Sergeant First Class Rex S. Whitzel brings nearly two decades of distinguished military service to Good Greek’s largest location, marking the company’s first SkillBridge recruitment and expanding its commitment to veteran employment.
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Good Greek Moving & Storage, the World’s Only Total Relocation Company®, has recruited U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Rex S. Whitzel through the SkillBridge program as he transitions into the General Manager role at the company’s flagship and largest operation in West Palm Beach, Florida. The milestone marks Good Greek’s first recruitment through the initiative and a significant step in its commitment to helping transitioning service members translate their military leadership and experience into meaningful civilian careers.
Approximately 200,000 U.S. service members transition to civilian life each year, bringing extensive training, operational expertise and leadership skills to the nation’s workforce. Yet many face challenges translating their military experience into civilian employment. The SkillBridge program helps bridge that gap by providing eligible service members with industry training, internships and professional development opportunities during their final 180 days of military service.
“Those who have dedicated their lives to serving our country deserve more than our gratitude. They deserve meaningful opportunities to succeed beyond the uniform,” said Spero Georgedakis, founder and CEO of Good Greek Moving & Storage. “Rex has spent nearly two decades leading soldiers, developing talent and demonstrating the discipline, courage and commitment that define exceptional leadership. Those qualities reflect the very foundation of Good Greek: Faith, Honor, Strength and Courage. We are proud to welcome him to our flagship operation and build upon our commitment to those who have served our nation.”
Whitzel began his distinguished Army career as an infantryman with the 10th Mountain Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, he served in active ground combat and earned the Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB), a distinguished military award recognizing infantry soldiers who have personally participated in ground combat. His career later advanced into recruiting, training and organizational leadership, with assignments across Florida, Ohio and Minnesota.
As an Army recruiter and recruiting station commander, Whitzel led teams, mentored soldiers and developed future military leaders while overseeing personnel development and operational performance. His achievements earned him the prestigious Glenn E. Morrell Award, the U.S. Army Recruiting Command’s highest recognition for recruiting excellence. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from the University of Charleston. Whitzel is scheduled to begin terminal leave on November 23, 2026, before officially retiring from the Army on January 1, 2027, concluding nearly two decades of honorable service.
Through SkillBridge, Whitzel is applying his military leadership experience to the transportation and relocation industry as he transitions into management of Good Greek’s largest operation. His background in personnel development, operational planning, accountability and team leadership aligns directly with the demands of overseeing a major relocation operation.
“I am incredibly grateful to Good Greek and its leadership for the opportunity to begin this next chapter of my career,” said Whitzel. “After nearly two decades of serving my country, joining an organization that shares my commitment to excellence, teamwork and service is especially meaningful. I look forward to bringing the same dedication, integrity and mission-focused leadership that guided my military career to Good Greek and the team in West Palm Beach.”
Good Greek’s commitment to veterans is already reflected throughout its organization, with former service members holding executive, management, training and operational leadership positions. Building upon this foundation, the company plans to expand its military-to-civilian career initiatives through recurring SkillBridge recruitment opportunities, structured mentorship, veteran recruitment goals and defined professional development pathways, helping more service members translate their experience into long-term career opportunities.
The company’s connection to the military also extends to the families it serves. Through Permanent Change of Station (PCS) relocations and comprehensive moving services, Good Greek supports military households navigating the unique demands of relocation, recognizing the importance of logistical precision, clear communication and dependable service.
This milestone follows Good Greek’s participation in the American Trucking Associations’ Moving & Storage Conference Call on Washington in September 2026, where company leadership met with White House officials and congressional leaders to discuss veteran employment, military relocations and consumer protection. Recruiting Whitzel through SkillBridge represents a tangible step toward advancing those priorities through workforce development and career opportunities.
As Good Greek continues its national expansion, the company views its first SkillBridge recruitment as the foundation for a lasting commitment to military career transitions, creating opportunities for those who have served to continue leading, growing and making a meaningful impact beyond military service. Veterans interested in employment and eligible transitioning service members seeking information about potential future CSP or SkillBridge opportunities are encouraged to contact Good Greek’s Human Resources Department at [email protected].
