The Ukrainian President will address all members of parliament during the visit on Monday, 21 August 2023.
Ukraine’s blue and yellow flag will fly alongside the Danish flag at the main entrance of the Parliament from the early morning in honor of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s official visit to the Parliament.
The Speaker of the Parliament, along with the Deputy Speakers in the Presidium, will receive Zelensky at the main entrance at 9:00 AM, and then proceed to the »Landstingssalen«, where Zelensky will address the members of parliament and ministers. The Speaker of the Parliament, Søren Gade, will also deliver a speech as the host of the visit.
Following that, there will be a brief reception for party leaders, group chairmen, and the chairs of the Foreign Policy Committee, the Foreign Affairs Committee, the European Affairs Committee, and the Defense Committee in the prestigious Conversation Room, used for visits by prominent guests.
Later in the morning, there will be an informal gathering in the Common Hall, where both President Zelensky and Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen will take the podium. Following the speeches, Zelensky will walk around the hall and greet, among others, the members of parliament present in the Special Meeting Room.
After the visit to the Parliament, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe will grant an audience to the Ukrainian president.
The sessions in the Landsting Chamber and the Special Meeting Room can be followed on the Parliament’s TV channel.
For security reasons, only a very limited number of press personnel with separate invitations will have access.
