North Korea – Ballistic missile launch (14 March 2023)

France condemns North Korea’s launch of short-range ballistic missiles on March 9 and 14. This constitutes a flagrant violation of UN Security Council resolutions. France was also troubled by North Korea’s March 13th announcement regarding the testing of long-range cruise missiles fired from a submarine platform.

France urges North Korea to comply immediately with its international obligations and to return to the negotiating table.

We emphasize our determination to work with our partners to pursue the goal of North Korea’s complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization and to encourage dialogue among all stakeholders.
