Seven years after his Sorbonne speech, French President Emmanuel Macron delivered a second speech on Europe in the auditorium of Sorbonne University on 25 April 2024.
To continue to move towards a more sovereign and more powerful Europe and to carry out these major transitions, President Macron set out his main focuses for the future of Europe with a view to adopting a new strategic agenda for the European Union for the period 2024-2029.
He made three observations:
- In geopolitical and security terms, Europe must address the widespread rearmament of the world,
- In economic terms, Europe’s economic model could fall behind global competitors,
- In cultural and intellectual terms, our democratic, humanist and liberal model is being challenged.
❝In his Sorbonne speech, the President set out an unprecedented roadmap for Europe in 2030.
Now let’s get to work, with our partners, to implement it!❞ https://t.co/74fAEv7b6j
