Tucked deep in the Alps between Switzerland and Austria lies Liechtenstein, one of the world’s smallest and richest countries. The 37,000 citizens have one of the highest per-capita incomes in the world, and it’s only 15 miles long and 7 miles wide at its broadest point. But this pint-sized principality packs major appeal. Turreted castles dot the mountainous terrain, and outdoor enthusiasts will find numerous trails for hiking and skiing. You’ll find Alpine villages and Rhine meadows, as well as picturesque vineyards rolling down the hillsides.
